DAY 22 A BL MANGA YOU WISH DIDN'T EXIST

I haven't read a manga that I hated so much to wish that it didn't exist. So, no answer for now.

DAY 21 A BL MANGA THAT DESERVES MORE RECOGNITION

There are many I guess..After all there are just not enough BL manga (lol). Well I liked basso with the unique art style that gives you wonder why you like it. And maybe, Kunieda Saika because I really like her hilarious stories. But lately I have gotten a liking to two particular authors. They are new I guess? They only have very few works after all and only two of each translated.

Those two are Akiba Touko and Nanami. Actually their stories are not really that special but of course it's not something very cliche either. Their works are perfect for a light read, not too much drama but nothing that too ridiculous either. I also like the the comedy after all I love comedies more than drama though drama and angst are very welcome to me.

The works of Nanami that I read and like are Kiken na Otonarisan and Porno Superstar and I both enjoyed it.
porno superstar kikennaotonarisan

And for Akiba Touko it would be Sono Koi ni wa Wake ga Aru and Zantei, Koibito. Most of her work are shonen-ai and her only yaoi only showed a little bit. I think her stories are vary cute especially the first one.

Sono Koi ni wa Wake ga Aru Zantei, Koibito

I liked these two mangaka since I noticed them and I would very much like to read their other works and their works in the future given the opportunity.

DAY 20 A BL MANGA THAT WOULD MAKE A GREAT PORNO

Haha I don't know. Maybe Ikenai Otoko? I don't really know what to answer. I am very picky with the yaoi I read. I don't care if it's really almost porn or porn but it should have plot. I just toss aside any pwp yaoi out there. Though I remember Ikenai Otoko because it's the first yaoi story I read that focus very much in the av industry.

DAY 19 A BL MANGA YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE A LIVE-ACTION DRAMA OF

Well, to be honest, I don't really like live actions unless its an original series. Live actions always disappoints me. I only liked a few adaptations. And I'm pretty sure adaptation of a BL manga wouldn't be that much. I watch the live-action movie of junjou before and I only find it amusing and what I mean amusing is I was just curious on how much it will show and how the actors fair. In the end, I only watched half and that's it. But anyway I will still answer the question. I think any work of Suzuki Tsuta would make a good live-action. And I think Hidaka Shoko's works also will make good live actions. And this is only if there are suitable actors out there....

DAY 18 A BL MANGA THAT HAS GREAT ART BUT YOU DIDN'T LIKE IT

Tsuyogari by Nekota Yonezou

tsuyogari

Nekota Yonezou has really a great art. I like most of her works because of the very good art and not only that but her stories are also great. So when I came across this one, as usual a good art but somehow I was disappointed with the story. It didn't strike me as special like her other works. It really isn't bad but for me it was just 'meh'.

DAY 17 A BL MANGA THAT HAS ART YOU DON'T LIKE BUT YOU STILL ENJOYED IT

That would be the Akuma series

The art is not bad, actually it is pretty good but it's not my type. It's just way too sparkly for my eyes though that's the indication how godly handsome the character is because he's always too dazzling. And another thing the characters have long eyelashes and lips like a girls. I hate girly characters but still I actually enjoyed the series because its too funny. I'm a sucker for comedies and jekyll and hyde characters. I actually put reading this off many times even though the reviews for this series aren't bad but in the end I read it and actually enjoyed it.

DAY 16 A BL MANGA YOU STARTED OUT ENJOYING BUT ENDED UP NOT LIKING AS MUCH

Afuresou na Pool by ISHIHARA Satoru

i128578

When I first read this I am quite averse to the idea of too big guys with over sized shirts and it just really screams old school. But despite this I liked the atmosphere of the manga. I enjoyed it in the beginning especially the building tension between the two protagonists as the time goes by. I really liked this burning tension every time Iriya and Kizu looks at each other ready to explode at anytime. What made my feeling die down for this manga is that the development became less and less in the middle and focused to another character that has this hots for Iriya. It also became bland right in the middle so like I just persevere to read till the ending. I'd just say that the ending too is quite simple. This manga is not a bad manga yet I think it is also not for everyone.

DAY 15 A BL MANGA THAT YOU DISLIKED AT FIRST BUT CAME TO ENJOY LATER ON

Sekaiichi Hatsukoi by NAKAMURA Shungiku

sekaiichi_hatsukoi_v01_ch01_01cover

It is really a surprise that I came to enjoy this series because I dislike Junjou Romantica. I know that every manga have a basis for its great popularity so I definitely always try popular titles. And though I know it is a bad habit, I am the kind of person who is biased in terms of art so I am partial in reading this series. I read Junjou Romantica a long time ago and it didn't clicked with me. I dropped it after reading at least 5 chapters and that's it. Then I don't know what possessed me, but I tried to read the spin-off Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. At first I was just reading it without any expectations or anything then I didn't realized soon enough that I am starting to enjoy it. Though it isn't an instant favorite I can say at least that I liked it to a certain degree. There are many flaws (of course) but still I didn't hate it. I don't know if I will read Junjou Romantica again, we'll just see in the future.

DAY 14 A BL MANGA THAT YOU FEEL EMBARRASSED ABOUT LIKING

Well, I'm past being embarrassed about liking or reading BL. So I can't really think of any title that makes me embarrassed anymore. Even my mom knows I'm reading BL though at first I thought she only knows what BL is and don't know that some shows explicit images. But there was one time that I am reading one and she coincidentally took a peek and I was on a page where the character are you know* and said "You're still reading that?" And then she just reverted to what she was doing. I just loled at her reaction but at the same time I felt embarrassed and that's that. I just so love my mom and now she knows the term yaoi.

Anyway I seem to have strayed from the original question. I just shared one of my experiences. Though that really is embarrassing, I would never try to forget that moment.

a BL manga that isn't licensed but SHOULD be
DAY 13 A BL MANGA THAT ISN'T LICENSED BUT SHOULD BE

Kyuuso wa Cheese no Yume o Miru and its sequel Sojou no Koi wa Nido Haneru by MIZUSHIRO Setona

sojou

Actually I was just browsing through my reading list and choose what I like that isn't licensed, then I realized that this series isn't and my reaction was "WTF?!WHY?!" That's really what I felt. This story is no average yaoi, in fact it goes beyond what you would call excellent. It's not really what you would call a happy story, just the opposite, it was filled with angst that will draw you in. It is realistic and has very great character development. It actually shows the bad side of love and what a person's action would be when he or she is pushed by loved. Many people says they are disappointed in the sequel but for me it was just right. You can definitely see what changes Imagase and Kyouichi have gone through. This story gives the feeling that love is scary, sad, yet so sweet and beautiful.
